You will be picked up in the morning and after a short briefing you will head off in direction of the Tarangire National Park. The park with its savannah, baobab trees, and seasonal swamps, is home to huge elephant herds. This also includes a selection of mammals ranging from giraffes, bushbucks and hartebeests to zebras and warthogs. Besides, some of the most aggressive African predators like, lions, leopards and the cheetahs are rarely spotted here. This will be an awe-inspiring experience to watch the wandering animals from the open roof of our safari vehicle. You will head to the campsite in the late afternoon for the rest and the overnight stay.<\/p>

The majority of travelers to the region either miss out Tarangire altogether or venture into the park for a matter of hours leaving parts of Tarangire virtually untouched. Full day is on game drives at the park with an optional picnic lunch to spice up your experience. The park has the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem. It is the only place to photograph the dry-country antelopes such as the stately fringe-eared Oryx and the peculiar long-necked gerenuk. Early evening is at the Tarangire Sopa Lodge for meals and overnight stay.<\/p>

On this day, you will travel to Lake Natron, a wild & remote village; it is situated at the base of Africa\u2019s only active volcano, Oldoinyo Lengai, which is known as the Mountain of God by the Maasai people. The area around Lake Natron contains some of the most harshly & amazing scenery in Africa and is utterly breath taking for those clients who choose to travel off the beaten track.<\/p>

Together with your Guide, you will be accompanied by a local Maasai Guide & walk up to the Engero Sero Waterfalls. Winding up through the shady gorge you will reach a beautiful natural swimming pool surrounded by steep rock walls showered by cascading spring water where you will have the opportunity to swim.<\/p>

After your breakfast, you can spend your morning time on this second day to enjoy the Flamingos at Lake Natron for a few hours, an alkaline lake that serves as the principal breeding site for three-quarters of the world\u2019s population of Lesser Flamingos.\u00a0 You will then walk back to the camp\/ lodge to take a rest as you wait for the midnight call to trek the Ol Doinyo Lengai. We recommend you to take time to rest enough, as you will be waking up in the night.<\/p>

You will wake up at night, around 10:00 pm (day 3) to prepare to take a drive to the Ol Doinyo Lengai base. As everything is prepared prior, you won\u2019t have a lot of time spent in preparation. You will take all the necessary gears and items needed for your trek and leave for an escorted drive to the starting point at the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai.\u00a0<\/p>

The trekking itinerary will be as follows.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

10:00 pm (day 3):<\/strong> wake up, go to mess area for tea\/coffee and snacks before driving to the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai<\/p>

11:30 pm:<\/strong> arrive at the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai and start your ascent<\/p>

5:30 am:<\/strong> you are at the top of Ol Doinyo Lengai! (On clear days, you will witness and enjoy the amazing sunrise as it illuminates the Great Rift Valley).<\/p>

6:00 am (day 3):<\/strong> start your descent\u00a0<\/p>

9:00 am:<\/strong> arrive at the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai, drive back to the Camp\/lodge<\/p>

10:00 am:<\/strong> arrive at Lodge and greeted by a cold face towel and fresh cold drink to quench your thirst then take your heavy breakfast.<\/p>

12:00 pm:<\/strong> have late lunch along the way as you drive to Serengeti National Park.<\/p>

The excitement for today will be quite high as you make your way into the most celebrated wildlife park in the world \u2013 The Serengeti. Serengeti, means endless plains in the Maasai language (local African language) and watching the grassland stretch out as far as the eye can see and eventually merging with the sky at the horizon is an absolutely breath-taking view. With an overall land area of 14,763 Square kilometres, it puts our notion about distance to shame. The Serengeti also houses the glorious \u201cBig 5\u201d (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard). Along with the \u201cBig 5\u201d, a very pleasant sighting would be one of Africa\u2019s most beautiful animal\u2013The Impala. The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa. The legendary Serengeti National Park is the most renowned safari destination for its incredible population of lions and leopards. The central portion of the Serengeti \u2013 known as Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti\u2019s species. In Seronera, one must really look out for the many lion prides that thrive in this region. You must also look out for the Serengeti \u201cKopjes\u201d which are massive boulders of granite standing in a sea of grass. They provide ample shelter to a large variety of flora and fauna. A picnic lunch will be done during the day long game drive itself. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night\u2019s rest in your campsite.<\/p>

You’ll wake before early to take part in a sunrise game drive. As the sun sets vigour to the savannah, you’ll have the best opportunity to see predators in action as they take advantage of the low light and cooler temperatures to look for an early meal. It’s an ideal time to see lions, leopards, and cheetahs in action as well as the early morning movements of the wildebeest, zebra, and other herbivores.<\/p>

Alternatively, you may wish to take to the skies a sunrise hot air balloon safari and champagne breakfast. Speak to us about adding this, once in a lifetime experience to your safari itinerary at an extra cost.<\/p>

After your unforgettable morning, you’ll return to your lodge for a late breakfast and to freshen up before hitting the road again with packed picnic lunch. The entire day is dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti National Park. You will either go on a full day game drive or join early morning and afternoon drives in the Seronera area, depending on last night\u2019s stop. The best time to find the wild beasts here is between December and May and for the calving session January and March is the right season to visit. The Seronera area is also the best place to spot the shy and nocturnal leopard. You will spend the night at the same campsite.<\/p>

The morning is set aside for another game drive in the Serengeti and you might spot some creatures that you haven\u2019t seen yet. Animals tend to be more active in the morning before the temperatures soar around mid-day. After lunch, you will leave the plains of the Serengeti and travel to the highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will spend the night at Simba Camp<\/strong> directly on the Ngorongoro Crater\u2019s edge with a view over the collapsed volcano. It is a perfect spot to enjoy a sunset.<\/p>

Please note<\/strong> that due the high-altitude location of Simba Campsite, temperatures can drop at night. We recommend bringing extra layers to wear during the evening and following morning.<\/p>

It is up at daybreak, to take on the steep path leading down into the 600-m deep crater. The slopes are forested but soon the landscape changes to savannah with the occasional acacia tree here and there. The wildlife in the crater is just breath-taking and with a little luck you might see the \u201cBig Five\u201d \u2013 lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. You will see warthogs, several groups of wildebeests, zebras, hippos and more than 500 bird species in the area. After an entire morning of game viewing and a picnic lunch in the crater, you will travel to Mto wa Mbuu where you will spend a night in at a campsite.<\/p>

After a restful breakfast, you will be driven to Lake Manyara National Park. Not only is this park a bird-lover\u2019s paradise with over 400 species of birds, but also home to primates such as baboons and blue monkeys and many herbivores like elephants, hippos, wildebeest, impalas and giraffes. You might even catch a glimpse of the more carnivorous inhabitants, like leopards and lions just to mention a few. Through the pop-up roof of your safari vehicle you will see the landscape changing from lush acacia woodlands to grassy flood-plains, where colonies of flamingos and other water fowls can be found on the alkaline Lake Manyara shoreline. After extensive game viewing you will leave the park and you will start your return trip to Moshi\/Arusha. You will be dropped off at a hotel of your choice or at the airport.<\/p>
